How Do We Use "Cookies"?

read back from that browser. This is useful to the web server, allowing it to remember who you are. A cookie cannot be used to get data from your hard
drive, get your email address or steal sensitive information about you. A cookie can be used to track where you travel over a particular site. This same
site tracking can be done without using cookies however; the use of a cookie does make the tracking data more consistent.
