Johnny Kilbane Sculpture Project - Videos

IAAS has commissioned Dublin-based sculptor Rowan Gillespie to create a work of public art honoring world champion boxer Johnny Kilbane.  The sculpture will be located in the Battery Park district of the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood and is due to be installed by the end of September 2014.  As sculptor Gillespie progresses  in his work, a series of 8-10 short videos about the creation of the sculpture will be produced.  Informative programming about Kilbane and Cleveland in the 1910s and 1920s will also be offered during the coming months, funded in part by by the citizens of Cuyahoga County through a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.
